Learn what an independent insurance agency career is like in our 10-week intensive summer internship program.
Program Description
Over the course of our 10-week summer internship, you will gain hands-on experience in the independent insurance agency space. You will be exposed to each of our agency’s departments, including Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Employee Benefits. After a brief orientation, you will be paired and mentored by some of our industry’s most experienced professionals.
Program Objective
- Introduce young professionals to all the wonderful opportunities that being an independent insurance agent has to offer.
- Develop professional skills such as sales, customer service, collaboration, communication, etc.
- Participate in meaningful projects instead of the typical, mundane internship work a typical intern is assigned.
- Learn from some of the most experienced industry professionals around.
- Goal is to find the next generation of young talent to hire full-time!
Job Responsibilities
- Sit in on leadership meetings to see high-level decision making.
- Support the sales team through new account prospecting and maintaining a pipeline of qualified leads.
- Participate in sales calls, internal/external client meetings in partnership with your mentor.
- Support the operations team through assignments and client-focused tasks.
- Conduct a research project focused on a designated topic/issue, which involves a final presentation to management.
Qualifications
- Current college student (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) OR recent college graduate considering a career in Sales, Customer Service, or Accounting.
- Previous job/internship experience in service or sales industry a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Growth-minded, self-motivated, and professional attitude.
